Take a look here to know what I'll be working on in January.
For those who haven't noticed, I updated the Tiers; see if there's something that fits you better.
I opened everything in November to the public. So take a look if you aren't a subscriber. There's a lot of animations this time (around 20), but I'll be moving more to stories, comics, and sequences in the upcoming months.
I think I got making animations out of my system. Thanks for everyone who participated (one more as of writing this). It was interesting to see what ideas other people had and it forced me to be more creative; hopefully, I understood what was wanted.
I've gotten asked a few times how to do it. Here's a simple walkthrough:
Needed:
- Images: Novel AI Diffusion (requires a subscription, at least $10 per month)
- Frame Interpolation: Runwayml (free account)
- Optional: any image editor to finetune the details and a Video to Gif converter.
These are the things I use, but other places might be able to do similar things.
Step 1: Get the starting character.
- Within Novel AI's AI Image Generator, create an image
- The more specific you are the better. It will probably take a few times to get it somewhat right.
- The tags to focus on are: Gender, background, pose, body view (full body or upper body are my go tos), hair, face, clothes, expression, and number of people (solo for single person)
- Click the bottom right button to save the image.
- Note: Each image will cost Anlas.
Step 2: Create the next frame.
- Click on the "Edit Image" button. It will take you to a new screen.
- You can make basic adjustments. I like to make the hair and clothing changes here. Click save.
- Note: You can also click on "Upload Image" on the main page for the same effect.
- Back on the main page, you'll notice on the right hand side, you have a new slider: Strength and Noise:
- Strength will be how creative the AI will be with the image. Noise will be how much detail will be added. I usually have Strength be 0.6 or 0.7, but feel free to play around with it. I rarely increase Noise above 0.2.
- Change the tags you want for the next frame. Don't make it too different or the frames won't look very fluid.
- Save the image.
Step 3: Repeat Step 2.
- Create multiple frames by repeating Step 2.
- Don't forget to click "Edit Image" and "Save" after each frame.
- If the images aren't looking quite right, remember to edit the image. The AI is pretty good about picking up the details.
- I'll finish making the frames:
Step 4: Frame Interpolation
- Now you should have a few frames. Let's chain them together. Head over to runwayml.
- Under AI Magic Tools, click on Frame Interpolation.
- You'll be able to insert the images. Make sure they are in the correct order.
- Choose the Clip Duration. I usually do about twice the amount of frames, but do what looks right. Click "Generate".
- You'll be able to see a preview. If all looks right, click "Export". Make sure to change the resolution to 720p (or 1080 if you have the subscription).
- You can go to Assets next and download the video.
- Now you have a MP4 video. If you want a gif, go to any "Video to Gif" maker online (I use ezgif).
And that's about it. It's not perfect and you have to do a lot of fine tuning, but it's pretty fun. Feel free to ask any questions or post any of your experiments here.
Greetings everyone. I am starting a Patreon. It will be for early access (one month) for my new visual novel - QMT: Quality Magic Tester, comics, and stories. The art will be made with Novel AI (an AI Generator).
There will be two tiers:
Subscriber ($5 per month):
- Early access with ability to vote on upcoming projects.
Premium ($20 per month):
- Subscriber plus 1 request for a comic page per month, only three slots.
For the first month, I will make an Animation like this for each Subscriber and three for Premium:
Also, to reward those who came here early, I will make an animation like above for the first 10 people who say "Request" in their comment below (I will respond with your slot number and send you a Note for more details). First come, first serve.
Thank you. If there is any issue gaining access, let me know.
